Development of the hybrid functional in real-space DFT and its applications to atoms and molecules.
The band gap of semiconductor is one of the important factor for understanding the transport characteristics. However, the calculations based on density functional theory using LDA or GGA generally underestimate its band gap. Therefore, Hybrid functional are needed to correct the electron orbital energies. In this study, the PBE0 and HSE06 type-hybrid functional are implemented to the DFT codes using the real-space difference method (RSPACE) in 3-dimensional periodic boundary conditions. Then, the results of calculation for atoms and molecules and we discuss the comparison results between PBE0 and HSE06.
